Red kites and wild boar in Markly Woods
Reintroduced Wild Boar on Cuckoo Trail / Markly Woods

In 2061 climatic warming and conservation could result in new species being permenant residents in the countryside around Heathfield. These may include exotic birds such as the hoopoe which may appear from the continent, but species such as the cuckoo and song thrush may suffer and cease to exist.

Thanks to the managed reintrodcution of Wild Boar results in brief encounters along the cuckoo trail and woodland paths through Markly Woods just North of the village and is a sort after source of local, sustainable meat.

Further examples of wildlife changes will be soon be made available.
