About: Hamsey is a rural parish of 5 settlements, Cooksbridge, Old Cooksbridge, Offham, Hamsey, and Bevern Bridge with a community who are enjoy the rural nature and as a result want to protect it for future generations. Because of this focus and consideration by the community on the value of nature biodiversity flourishes in their woodlands, hedgerows, waterways, green spaces and buildings. To promote a more green approach to living the parish council ensures that policy will restrict unacceptable pollution and land instability. Additionally there is support for renewables as a wind turbine has been erected at Beechwood Hall & Rural Park.
Connection to the Biosphere and its principles: The Parish Council ensures that the vast amount of biodiversity critical to the community is maintained. As a result policy has been introduced to reduce emissions, planting trees at a ratio of 3:1 new to old when trees need to be cleared, local green spaces are maintained and renewable and low carbon energy is encouraged.
