About: Part of a larger DEFRA project, At Sussex are developing an interdisciplinary open access landscape modelling tool to assess and visualise benefits and trade-offs between nature based solutions and land use options at different landscape scales.
Designed to compliment existing tools, reflect diverse perspectives and knowledge for planning processes. The tool aims to be flexible, allowing it to develop to advances in science, user needs and engagement strategies with a focus on the local area.
Connection to the Biosphere and its principles: This project involves a collaboration between research institutions and government bodies to design an engaging tool that analyses environmental, social and economic data to plan more sustainable forms of local land use
