The collaboration between Brighton Community Organisers and the Community Media module at the university was set up with the aim of engaging students in a community project, where they would assist the group through various media forms over a period of 6 weeks.

Another benefit to this partnership was that students could use the content/engagement as part of their studies and receive credits for it, whilst learning valuable skills in a real-life environment.

The students were involved in a brain-storming meeting with local residents, an interview with a local community cafe, photographing the local area, handing out flyers and creating a short video of the potential of the area for having a community space.
