From the Eastern town of Kono, Sierra Leone, Isatu Harrison is a founder, designer & creative director of brand and academy IZELIA. Her interests lie in creating new textile dyes from fruits and vegetables and using products that are non harmful to the environment. Soonto be opening a 3000 sq foot training and textile production space in Freetown, Isatu aims to communicate that the way we make, use and dispose of our clothes all has an environmental impact. With the new workshop space, she aims to continue providing training centred around sustainable fashion, workshops on tie dye & textiles, recycling and upcycling and intends to inspire and assist emerging Sierra Leone designers to work in the fashion industry.
