NVRnorthampton is a Community Interest Company, which has offered this service since 2017.

CRITERIA Catchment: The Northamptonshire area is prioritised but no-one is turned away, facilitated by work online. Age: There is no age limit.

REFERRAL AND ASSESSMENT Anyone can refer, but a conversation is needed with the parent / carer before a referral can progress. This takes place via phone / video call during which an assessment of suitability and risk is made. This is an unfunded service. Clients are usually funded by their local authority, ASF, PP etc. Some are self-funding. Waiting times are approximately 2 – 6 weeks.

THE SERVICE This service uses the practice of Non-Violent Resistance, integrating other models and theories as appropriate, eg systemic approaches, psychotherapeutic ideas, communication models and neuroscience. Work is with parents (recommendations can be made regarding associates working with children and young people), either one to one or in groups. This moved online during 2020, but is now beginning to be offered in homes and community centres again. Involvement is not for a fixed time, and can last for anything from 4 to 15 interventions or more, as well as contact with the widder system as appropriate.

EVALUATION Internal evaluations and feedback are collected.
