We use the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach (developed by Professor Haim Omer) to enable parents and carers to resist aggression and challenging behaviours from their young people. This involves giving the parent/carer tools and techniques to de-escalate, deferring their response to their child’s aggression. It also involves galvanizing support from others and not allowing the aggression to be kept a secret any longer. NVR encourages an increase in parental presence and reconnection with the child, whilst also taking action against aggression.
