The University of The Third Age (U3A) was established in Britain in 1981. Its aim is to enable those of us who have entered the Third Age to advance and share our knowledge, work experiences and any skill we may have acquired, regardless of our previous educational background. We are a self help organisation. Members with expertise in some activity or field of study are invited to share their knowledge. Thus groups are formed to enjoy many varied activities. The U3A offers the opportunity to pursue learning for sheer enjoyment, for its own sake, form new friendships and share learning experiences on a wide range of interests.
Monthly Meetings are held alternately in Peacehaven (Meridian Centre, BN10 8BB) and Newhaven (Baptist Church Hall, BN9 9LA.
Lunch Clubs (where we visit local restaurants and hostelries, usually on a bus route) are very popular. They are held on the second Friday of each month throughout the year and the last Sunday of the month during the winter months.
