Stanmer Preservation Society is a registered charity that became established in 1971. It's purpose is to preserve and develop the Stanmer area. This is so the area is attractive for locals and the public.
It particularly focuses on the church, the Donkey Wheel, Stanmer Rural Museum collection and the wildlife. The society also represents Stanmer at meetings and enquiries.
They really encourage voluntary work. They make it flexible to join as a volunteer e.g. by BACs payment, writing a letter or completing a leaflet in the local amenities. Membership as a volunteer costs £5.
Ease of contact isn't too easy. They were located in Stanmer Rural Museum until 2014 but now locate themselves in different local amenities on temporary basis's.
