In July 1920, the Black and set fire to O'Cearbaill's green grocers and another of other businesses along the main street, including Con Herlihy's green grocers.

O'Cearbaill's was then rebuilt in 1924 and then later closed as a green grocers in 1985 by Mrs McElhone.
