Brighton & Hove City Clean is a council department responsible for collecting items for recycling, along with refuse and street cleaning.

The department consists of three teams including:

1. Operations- responsible for collecting domestic refuse and recycling, and also cleaning public areas.
2. Customer Services- responsible for providing help to residents requiring access to City Clean services and providing solutions to customer issues.
3. Projects and Contracts- responsible for the disposal of refuse and recycling of recyclable waste, the development of waste projects and strategy, and manage contracts.

This organisation contributes to environmental citizenship by recycling materials in order to reduce environmental damage caused by the production of new materials. They also clean the streets of Brighton, ensuring that waste does not accumulate and impact upon wildlife.
