BHESCo are a community energy service co-operative that are a local energy saving organisation that are based in Brighton, that have specifically helped business in the North Laines and have helped Netfuse, which is a private telecommunications company based on Sydney street. BHESCo have helped alleviate the cold conditions of their property in winter. They installed a 4KW solar array on the roof. They have engaged in Organic Roofs to install the external roof insulation which will help lower fuel bills by 15-20%. They have also installed an air source heat pump which will improve heating efficiency. Along with that they will also install LED lighting and secondary glazing.
This leads is environmental citizenship because by being a sustainable energy company that give companies the opportunity to save energy and therefore this saves the environment by using a cleaner and sustainable energy production for the business. By having cleaner energy consumption it saves the environment by not polluting the air and being self reliant in the company. This also links to the sustainable development goals and to will help achieve these goals and contribute to a more sustainable business helping the environment. Along with that it is citizenship in terms of other businesses helping other business and so they are working together and creating a community that offers sustainable production.
