Grand Parade campus c-change

The University of Brighton has introduced a carbon reduction campaign called the c-change. It is aimed to engage, inspire and support the staff and students of the University to cut carbon emissions, both within the University but also at home.

The university has made this easy for students by having c-change icons around the University campuses, including Grand Parade. Actions that the University encourages include switching off computers when they aren't being used, using the bus/bike instead of driving or turning the lights off when nobody is in the room.

c-change is about creating a cultural shift – making carbon cutting behaviours the social norm. This happens best through peer-to-peer learning, picking up habits and ideas from one another and passing them on when we can. So, there’ll be loads of opportunities to get involved with actively encouraging and inspiring others around you to get on board and do their bit too.

c-change is about encouraging and enabling staff and students to take positive action to see the change that they want to see on their campus. This shows environmental citizenship because the University is trying to decrease carbon levels in aim to help the environment.
