The Brighton and Hove Food Festival occurs at several points in the year and recently was held for the 6th consecutive year. Local produce is in the spotlight and allows a wide variety of food and drink to be put on show from the local area, predominately in Sussex. These events are free, which therefore encourages anyone to go and therefore engages a wider range of people on topic of locally produced food. This therefore increases local advocacy on the topic as the community becomes more educated and involved.
The festival provides lots of attractions for people, for example live music, tasting sessions, baking sessions, a BBQ arena and Pop-Up Restaurants.
This contributes to Environmental Citizenship as it promotes the use of locally sourced food resources, meaning less pollution will be created transporting food from areas further away or abroad.
