Sunny Foods is a health and wholefood grocery store, selling a range of fresh local foods, organic store cupboard goods and environmentally friendly cleaning products and toiletries. Here you can also buy ready made, homemade meals such as curry. These are ideal for busy families where parents don't have time to cook, as they are much healthier than ready-made meals from supermarkets which are heavily preserved with salt and artificial ingredients.
How does this contribute to environmental citizenship?
This contributes to environmental citizenship as when citizens buy these products they are actively helping the environment. Using locally sourced foods reduces food miles and carbon footprint, so is good for the environment. Due to the store being located within the housing communities, it is closer than shops in the town centre, so is used by the residents connecting them all with the common interest of consuming local produce.
