Bison Beer is a local beer and ale shop located in the South Laines and is focused on selling local and micro-brewed beers. One beer in particular is from a micro-brewery located in Hove and is one of the smallest licensed breweries in the country.
They're focused not only on promoting the local beers but also reducing their waste and recycling. One way they're doing this is offering a scheme where customers come into the shop and buy beer but rather than buying individual bottles you purchase a large bottle (Picture Above) and then return the bottle for re-use.
Additionally, Bison Beer are currently looking to create a connection between SILO, the first Zero waste coffee shop, which entails them providing bottled beer for the cafe and then after they are used Bison take back the bottles for re-use. This relates to environmental citizenship as it aims to use very little energy, which is better for the environment and this also allows local people to participate in a sustainable lifestyle.
This information was gathered through interviews within the shop with workers, who were both keen on reducing waste and localise the stock of beer.
