Sussex Cricket Ground

Sussex County Cricket Club - Sussex CCC - was the first First-Class County formed in 1839. Its location has moved several times since its formation. Firstly 'The Prince of Wales' Ground (where Park Crescent now lies), Temple Fields (where Montpelier Crescent now lies), Royal Brunswick Ground (where Third and Fourth Avenues are situated) and finally in 1871 the ground in Eaton Road was acquired from the Trustees of the Stanford Estate.

Since then it has been dedicated to hosting cricket games for professional as well as its cricket club for all age groups.

Examples of action that the Cricket club has done to improve their environmental footprint: - Switched from foam cups to cardboard cups. (Increase recycling). - Introduced washable plastic cups rather than throwing away each cup (re-using). - Rubbish generator that creates excess waste into energy. - Mini garden on top of left stand which grows seeds (green space, eco friendly).

The club has a partnership with the environmentally conscious waste disposal company Rabbit Waste. They utilize Biomass power generation facility produces green electricity from the commercial and industrial wastes that we have not recycled. Producing zero Landfill waste.

The club is determined in its promotion of health, enjoyment, employment, in the surrounding community. It offers schemes such as fund raising for the local community, a partnership with No Boundaries helping 100 people back into work in 2015.
