Wild Park is Brighton and Hove's largest Local Nature Reserve. The park is great for woodland walks and views over the city. The parks facilities include: 2 football pitches, A basketball court, A cafe with toilets.
Wild Park Management Plan: A management plan set by the council to cover the park from 2012 to 2022. It was compiled after extensive local research and consultation period to which management proposals received high support.
The management plan includes: Minimising the landscape impact to ensure the natural appearance of Wild Park is kept. Improve public access and enjoyment of the park for quiet recreation. (including maintaining the network of formal/informal pathways). Take full account of all aspects of the ecology of the park to ensure that all the key habitats and species of importance are conserved and expand and improve the links between the habitats under particular threat, such as species rich grassland.
Local residents can get involved in the park management through becoming park rangers, simply recording wildlife sightings or reporting damage and disruption. To get in contact with the council you can simply email cityparks@brighton-hove.gov.uk or read the management plans on their website. http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/leisure-and-libraries/parks-and-green-spaces/wild-park
This contributes to environmental citizenship as it shows how the conservation of the natural environment is top priority as all aspects of the ecology are conserved to make sure they are not under threat.
