Rose Garden

Originally designed by Captain Bertie MacLaren the rose garden was restored and replanted in 2001 with funding from a Heritage Lottery Fund grant. The work included planting 4000 shrubs roses, chosen for colour and scent. As well as restoration of the life-size French statues which represent two of the four seasons. The Rotunda pond is situated in the garden, and has been home to a colony of pond newts since the 1970's. There is a Preston Park Rock Garden Conservation and Gardening group, all volunteers that meet every Wednesday to help maintain the gardens.
