Valley Gardens is a conservation area currently but isn't an area that people are attracted to due to lack of privacy and it being noisy because of traffic. It is used mostly as a way across the city and by dog walkers. The local council have set about improving this through carrying out surveys to understand what the locals want.
The vision is for Valley Gardens to add appeal to Brighton & Hove and for it to be used in a better, more environmentally friendly way. They want it to be a safe and attractive space that can be used in a variety of ways all year round.
A green focus of the vision includes planting trees and working toward a long-term environmental sustainable development of the gardens that citizens can visit and appreciate.
