The Hanover Local Action team is a local group which meets bi-monthly with the purpose of providing a forum for residents to meet with councilors, police and other local service providers. This group talks about a range of issues some of these include environmental topics. A secondary part of this team is the "Transport Group" which meets to discuss local transport and parking issues and to identify and lobby for improvements.
Current priority areas for this group are:
Cycle parking and provision for cyclists Street obstruction by parked vehicles Pavement obstructions & street clutter Public transport Parking issues.
A main part of this local action team focuses on community surveys for transport asking people in the area what kinds of transport they use and how they feel about parking issues in the area. Other environmental topics talked about at meetings include clothing sustainability and recycling/waste issues (whether or not there are enough recycling points).
