After talking to a resident seen putting rubbish into the recycle bins it was found out that up until around 2 years ago black bags were still used for most residents in Hanover and Elm grove as there was no room for wheelie bins outside the front of their house. These bags were often ripped open by wildlife scavenging for food resulting in litter strewn streets. Therefore communal refuse bins were created including recycle points for: Paper Cardboard Cans Plastic bottles Glass bottles and jars Textiles Shoes
This recycling centre next to the Hanover community centre is larger than other recycling points around Hanover and Elm Grove with more bins and an extra bin for clothing and shoes which is not present at the other recycling points.
