This is the only central composting point available in the area of Regency and it is already working at capacity. It is good that composting is available at a local scale, but a second scheme may help to deal with the excess. Composting includes vegetable peelings, fruit, tea bags, coffee grounds, cardboard and shredded paper. This community led scheme is not only beneficial for the environment, but also has social benefits as it can create community cohesion and invite the local citizens to come together and set up communication links between them, and to eventually create a low carbon community.
