Dr Oli Gibson secured his PhD from the University of Brighton in 2015 and took up a lectureship at the University of Brunel. Dr Gibson continues to collaborate with staff from the University of Brighton (Dr Neil Maxwell, Dr Alan Richardson, Dr Mark Hayes and Dr Ash Willmott) on projects linked to optimising performance in the heat, heat adaptation and their application. The most recent other than some joint PhD supervisions is an EIS-commissioned Tokyo 2020 Heat Resource Pack.
Dr Jo Corbett of the University of Portsmouth invited Dr Neil Maxwell to join a nationally-based team [Dr Oliver Gibson (Brunel University), Dr Caroline Sunderland (Nottingham-Trent University) and Professor Neil Walsh (Bangor University)] to submit a proposal applying to co-author a BASES expert statement entitled, ‘Performance in the Heat’.
