Dr Nick Smeeton worked with Bill Filby and PhD student Karl Stevenson worked in partnership with Sussex County Cricket Club from 2009 until 2016.

The collaboration investigated skill in cricket batsmen. Characteristics of skilled batsmen were identified and used to inform training programmes to accelerate skill learning and performance.
