Since the 1990s, the forced demolition of Beijing's art districts has become a common phenomenon. These art districts used to be in the surburbs, but these areas are also included in the government's urban planning map due to the rapid expansion of the city. These art districts are gradually replaced by high-rise buildings. Artists had to wander from place to place to find their next foothold.
