hiSbe (how it Should be) is a social enterprise business that serves the interests of people and communities.They prioritise local products and work with suppliers and wholesalers who care about health, sustainability and trading fairly.
What does it do?
hiSbe reduces waste substantially by reducing packaging and using compostable alternatives and helping people buy smaller quantities.They help protect nature by promoting farming practices that protect nature, are GM free and avoid unnecessary chemicals.The enterprise also chooses to source from producers and growers based locally, and avoid selling big brands. They look at Sussex-based suppliers first to provide a boost to the local economy and reduces food miles.
How does it relate to Environmental Citizenship?
hiSbe relates to environmental citizenship as it supports local suppliers and focuses largely on minimising the amount of waste that is produced and therefore has to be disposed of.
