Description:Based in Leeds, UK. Scrap is a project which encourages the reuse of items seen as waste. Anyone can become a member, for a low fee of £6 per year, this gives them access to the shop and all the materials for sale there. Scrap is aimed towards artists and creatives, encouraging crafters to think about the possibilities of reusing materials before buying them new, their website includes scrap project ideas to try at home. within the shop site they also run creative workshops for adults and children, further encouraging the reuse ethos and sharing ideas within a community setting. Alongside the shop site, they also provide Scrapsheds for schools. These are metal or wooden containers with recycled materials and equipment suitable for outdoor play; such as large plastic sheets, large reels and tyres. The sheds are replenished with materials throughout the year. These sheds enable the children to experiment with creative play, whilst giving items that would have been landfill a new purpose.
