Project Name: Dustyrelief Project managers/designers: New-territories Web link: http://www.new-territories.com/roche2002bis.htm Description: The website is quite confusing, but from what I can gather, this will be a huge art instillation/air purification device located in Bangkok. The project is based in a city plagued with a thick veil of smog, and preposes to use electronically charged aluminium wires to attract the microscopic particles released into atmosphere and forcing them to stick together. This process eventually leads to a large silvery 'fur' growing on the building, think iron filings on a magnet. An interesting concept could be that the fur be removed in some way either for disposal/recycling depending on how useful it was. As this hasn't yet been tested on a large scale though, there's no data on the subject, nor on how much purer such buildings could make the air, but, there's only one way to find out.
