Description: Working with refugees they are creating rucksacks with the discarded boats and lifejackets they had used. It is a 21 litre bag, using one square metre of boat rubber and 4 straps from the life jackets. The idea came about after seeing all the boats and vests left behind by refugees on the beach in the Greek island of Lesbos. Improvisation was key using rivet guns to constructed the bags up, as there was no electricity or money for expensive tools. Their hope is to open a factory for the refugees and they can be paid to work and make the bags.
