Green Spaces Network in Brighton & Hove - Seed Fund 2016

Partners: Dr Maureen Berg (PABS) with Brighton & Hove city Council (Biosphere), Community Works, Trust for Developing Communities, City in Blooms. Main areas of Impact: Environment

Environmental science academic and 4 community partners came together to develop a network between the different groups involved in the management of Green Spaces within the BHCC area. The partnership identified Green Spaces group characteristics through on online survey and delivered a series of stakeholder workshops. The research showed that there is a disparity between the groups, and an evident need for shared practice and experience between them. Subsequently the partnership has created a new overarching group, Brighton & Hove Green Spaces Forum, and they will continue to work on formalising and resourcing this group. Student project opportunities have also been identified across the Gren Spaces groups and planned for the coming academic year.
