Queen's Park

Queen's Park , formerly known as Brighton Park, was opened in 1825 after being acquired by Thomas Attree a property developer. It is a residential park inspired in design by Regent's Park in London under the guidance of architect Charles Galloway. At present it is home to a wide range of facilities including :Tennis Courts (Tennis Club), a Bowls Green, a Sensory Garden (Scented Garden), a Wildlife Garden, a Duck Pond ( managed by ‘Friends of Queen’s Park) a Play Area, and a Health-walk Programme

The park acts as "a space of interruption" , a site where local advocacy can thrive. As opposed to the concrete jungle surrounding it.Users of the park can meet with like-minded people who as a group seek to carry out their environmental agendas.
