On our visit to Shabitat we found the clothes they were selling at reasonable prices.

This company is a co-operative who aim to be eco-aware when providing their services to the people of Brighton and Hove. They specialise in recycling and work with the council and the locals to benefit many who are in need.

They provide three main services: Greenbox, Furniture Reuse and Recycling, and Shabitat.

Greenbox - Domestic kerbside collections which offer the advantage of knowing the materials will be recycled within the UK as well as collections being made by electrical vehicles run on green energy which is a more sustainable way to recycle. The collections are made weekly which is significant within the Brighton and Hove area as the council only makes collections fortnightly.

Furniture Reuse and Recycling - Magpie benefit the community through their furniture collections, the unwanted furniture is delivered to and displayed in their Shabitat Warehouse at reasonable prices to find new homes with those of whom may be on a budget. This year Magpie have made 1200 furniture collections in the Brighton and Hove area.

Shabitat - Shabitat is Magpies warehouse where they display and sell their recycled and second hand items. They sell furniture, clothes, electrical goods, household products and also upcycled cushions, clothes and armchairs. Magpie suggest how 58 tonnes of furniture has been diverted from landfill through their services.

Magpie recycling Co-operative is promoting sustainability with regards to recycling which is benefitting the people of Brighton and Hove.
