Communities Matter set up a week long Pop Up Energy cafe on behalf of Your Energy Sussex ( YES) on Sherbourne Recreation ground in a sunny week week in July 2015. Local residents visited our pop up - got their bills checked and talk about energy efficiency. We were joined at the cafe by - Love Tea - a vintage caravan tea shop providing us with lovely tea/coffee and home made cakes. Sue Long - Parkland's Community Warden helped us spread the word about the event and was on hand to talk to local people. Paula from Parkland's Residents Association was instrumental in the success of the pop up and enabled us to have the boules courts set up as an added extra during the event.
Home Energy advisors from Arun District Council were there to provide information on accessing home energy visits . Representatives from Chichester District Councils Partnership team came along to talk about the proposed changes to Chichester Market.
Over the week we checked many bills and helped local people save a staggering £7,826 !
