Partners: Dr Conall Gleeson (ADM) with New Note Orchestra (NNO). Main areas of Impact: Health, Societal, Cultural
The partnership between the University of Brighton and New Note Orchestra (NNO) builds on a shared understanding of the value of creative practice in supporting the recovery of those with histories of alcohol or substance abuse. The partnership has supported the making of new music and performance works amongst NNO, the students and staff of UoB. The collaboration has contributed to Gleeson’s existing research interests and led to the university hosting and the project participating in the international symposium, Music In Creative Detoxification and Rehabilitation (MUS.I.C.D.A.R.E), funded by Erasmus+ programme with partners from University of Macedonia and University of Nime and Greek National Health Service.
