This garden is located outside the Brighton and Hove Montessori School, in association with the Brighton and Hove Food Partnership. The garden opened in June 2013, where herbs, vegetables and flowers are grown and planted here local residents and volunteers. Creation of these green spaces within street communities brings them together and encourages younger generations to aim for a greener future.
You can find the regular group working here every Thursday between 10am-2pm.
How is this contributing to environmental citizenship?
This garden links to environmental citizenship as it promotes home grown produce and provides an area for people to do this. It has also created a green space within the city which has helped to bring the local community together, as it is available for everyone to use.
