The Level was part of a restoration project during 2013 after funding was invested due to the Heritage Lottery. Since the Summer of 2013, the park has been extremely popular, attracting various different type of people. The skate park created an active place for teenagers, while the children's play area attracted families during the summer months, ultimately making The Level a great success when it comes to community engagement.
This is citizenship for the environment because it creates a more friendly and engaging place for people to take part in an active sport. It means that it will encourage people to go outside more and take part in recreational activities. Also by making the skate park a more appealing place to go, it encourages other people to go to this green space and take part on other activities, utilising this green space.
