The Hannover Community Association is a registered local charity which exists to improve the quality of life in the local area.
Its aims are to promote sustainability and self sufficiency on an individual level. It also operates the Hanover Community Centre, a busy and active community centre on Southover Street in the heart of Hanover. This provides a local meeting place for like-minded eco-centric people or an opportunity for people who do not have much knowledge on sustainable living to meet people who have experience in this area.
This charity also houses events within its community centre focussed on green living. One event is the annual Eco Open Houses event, which sees owners of 19 of the greenest buildings in Sussex opening their doors to the public for free, showcasing the latest green technologies, architecture and materials. This association uses its building as part of the tour where other organisations are able to make use of the Hanover Community Centre including the Hanover 10:10 organisation show-casing its work at the Centre with tours and an exhibition.
