Antoine Verhofstede, business manager of Eeuwenhout, gets his wood from all parts of the world. 90% of its stock comes from the United States, where the company works with Amish communities to dismantle barns. Verhofstede is proud that he is one of the only importers of this type of wood in Belgium. The remaining 10% concerns shelves on which cheese has been ripening in France or the Netherlands. Those from France have the width of a 'tomme' and are used for plank floors, just like the slightly narrower ones from the Netherlands.
