A Biosphere UNESCO Research project for academics in Sussex

An academic research directory has been developed using the University of Brighton’s Community 21 platform, for local academics in the two universities and others to promote their local applied research projects taking place in the UNESCO Brighton & Lewes Downs Biosphere region – see the Community21 Biosphere Research Directory Page and (http://biospherehere.org.uk/) .

This new resource is an important part of the Research Plan being developed for the Biosphere, which will encourage new applied collaborative research that addresses priority themes such as ecosystem services and links with other Biosphere partner organisations including local public and voluntary bodies.

The research directory will also inform local people what is being investigated in our international demonstration area for sustainability, as well as reaching out to the international UNESCO Biospheres network of sites in Europe and beyond.
