Originally the chief Post office serving the surrounding area. The building has a rich history including a period of turmoil where it was under attack during the civil war.

A well from the 1800s has been discovered within the walls of the building and will become a feature in the remodelling of the building into the new Credit Union.

This building has been an active place of exchange and gathering since its beginning.
