Background - The Library of Things project highlights that consumerism is not working and struggling to get items which we will only use once or twice a year is a waste. Thus, borrowing Gadgets and tools when you really need them and sharing it with your community stops unnecessary buying and helps decrease “non-recyclable” waste. I was also a thing during WW2 as people needed to borrow tools with very little money. This project recycles Technology such as power tools and sewing machines. such as sewing machine and vacuum cleaners and repairs them so it can be rented by the local community for a low price.

Aims - The Aims of this project is making this idea of borrowing a more acceptable way of life rather than encouraging the accumulation of things. And to help the community connect and rekindle its spirit by sharing with one another and giving advice to each other.

Resources recycled - The resources for this project can be new, as it would be sent by one of its sponsors, or It could be old tech revived by a professional or renewed in a repairs class which they offer within the project

Social impacts - The project helps connect the community to share and give life lessons and tools for life. 75% of borrowers feel better connected to their community because of Library of Things.

Economic impacts - The project helps stop unnecessary spending and encourages the thought of only spending what you need. 90% of borrowers say they now have more money to spend on things important to them.

Environmental impacts - The project helps encourage a minimalist way of living due to less people wasting and damaging the gadgets and tools they have from lack of use and or just not wanting it and encouraging them to borrow and care for other things. Having used Library of Things, borrowers are 60% more likely to repair or recycle items.
