Location: There are 11 locations in the USA, there are 7 on the west coast and 4 on the east coast. Some of these locations are found in the state of California or Oregon and on the east coast this project is found in North Carolina and New York.

Type/Product: Various recyclables are collected in this project but there is a huge focus on cleaning up plastic waste. Groups involved: The groups that are involved are: Clif, Reef and Better Beach Alliance (BBA).

Background: Mass amounts of waste going into the ocean is common thing across the globe, as it causes more water pollution and disruption to the sea life. Cleaning beaches and making sure rubbish does not flow out into sea is helping to fight against pollution and protects the marine ecosystem.

Aims: The aim of this project is to help every America understand its duty to take care of the environment around you. By the end of 2021 they are hoping to have over a 1000 volunteers and work on 15 beaches.

Resource recycled: The waste found on the beaches either are thrown away or sent to be recycled at recycling plants, as the group is hoping to get the rubbish as far away from the coast as possible.

Social Impact: It has helped bring people together and make new friends as they enjoy the same activities and care for the planet’s oceans.

Economic Impact: The economic impact is not known as the project relies on volunteers and services already paid for by taxes, thus it does not put a strain on the economy as well as not affecting it in a positive way.

Environmental Impact Surfers have said surfing is safer after beach clean-up and that there are less dead of sick animals washing up to shore.
