Background - "In Dakar (Senegal), it’s hard to walk from a street side to another without seeing waste tires lying around every corner. Mbeubeuss, an open air landfill in Dakar, our capital, with a population of over 2,000 people. Among them men, women, teenagers, children and old people, exposed to all type of fumes and filth every day and living in very alarming conditions. There are so limited options for them that they are forced to find ways to get profit from things like tire waste that they burn in order to extract iron and steel they contain and sell them. They are exposed to illnesses such as pneumonia, mycosis and cancer and the population living around that landfill have more than once voiced complaints" (F6S, 2021).

Aims - "E-cover aims to solve the problem of ​​waste management by up-cycling in an eco-friendly way in order to create marketable resources. As first take in that matter, the recycling of tires into shoes soles, tiles and floor covering for outdoors places such as courtyard, halls, sport grounds, terraces and even roa​​ds" (F6S, 2021).

Social impacts - "By hiring them [the people of "Mbeubeussin"] in our transformation facility, we are offering them a sane way of gaining their lives and the possibility to let their children have a better start in life" (F6S, 2021).

Economic impacts - "The tires from which Broyat [crushed material] is produced constitute an abundant and local resource, with the guarantee of constant prices" (E-Cover.co, 2020).

Environmental impacts - "Sen SBR is the rubber which comes from the granulation of the rubber of used tires, after extraction of textile fibers and metallic threads" (E-Cover.co, 2020). "This replaces products made from petroleum derivatives" (E-Cover.co, 2020).
