Bevendean Community Garden

Background Information:

Beavendean community Garden is a garden that any of the locals can use. They grow their own fruit and vegetables and even have bees to make honey. They run workshops to give education and raise awareness of environmental issues. Regular work days are wednesdays between 10.30am and 1.30pm. Just turn up and they will find a job for you to do to help out. They eat the produce together and cook up some healthy food with it including pizza. In winter they get a fire going to keep everyone warm.

They are supported by Action for Bevendean Community, The Food Partnership, B&H and others.

Contribution To Environmental Citizenship:

This promotes local advocacy as each volunteer gets a voice in deciding what to do with the garden and as a green group they educate people on environmentally friendly produce and what they should eat when to limit the impact on the environment.
