Dr Carl James secured his PhD from the University of Brighton in 2016 and took up a position as a Senior Physiologist on the Podium Programme at the National Sports Institute of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr James collaborates with a number of colleagues (Dr Neil Maxwell, Dr Mark Hayes, Dr Ash Willmott) on a number of projects linked to his PhD and associated research evaluating acute and chronic heat-alleviating methods to optimise exercise performance in hot conditions.
