Hastings Greenway Group, the White Rock Trust and Hastings Voluntary Action in conjunction with the Planning School at the University of Brighton are working together in order to formulate a green infrastructure and connectivity plan as part of the regeneration plans for the White Rock neighbourhood of Hastings. The work will involve surveys, research, workshops and the preparation of a community supported green infrastructure plan which can be incorporated into future plans for the White Rock area.
The project will run from October 2015 until March 2016. Activities will include community workshops in November 2015 and February 2016 to develop ideas and objectives for the future environmental regeneration of the neighbourhood with specific reference to green infrastructure ,health and wellbeing and tourism. A local exhibition of the findings and suggestions for the Green & White Rock area will take place in March 2016. The project will allow local people, interest groups, Brighton university, local councils and other interested parties to contribute to a community led project which will facilitate further regeneration work by both the Hastings Greenway Group and White Rock Trust.
