War Memorial

This was designed and erected by Sidney Carter (one of the founders of Carter Brothers engineering in Newpound) who was chairman of the Parish Council. It was unveiled by Lord Leconfield at a service on Sunday 13th February 1921 at 3pm.It remembers those from the village killed in the First and Second World Wars as well as the Canadian soldiers who were stationed at Hawkhurst Court who did not return from the Dieppe Raid.
