DSHS Butterfly Haven

About: Liz Williams butterfly haven is a habitat restoration of downland butterflies, covering an area of around half a football pitch. in 2007 every DSHS child (1700) helped to plant over 5500 wildlife plants from 18 different species, the land has since been managed and preserved by DSHS. Lessons take place in the area for a variety of subjects and the area is also accessible to the public. the Sussex Wildlife Sheep also graze once a year.

Connection to the Biosphere and its principles: habitat restoration and environmental education, gives insight on early butterfly species activities. Creates a beautiful green space boasting with wildlife.
