Hollingdean community centre

Context: The Hollingdean community centre is managed by the Hollingdean Development Trust. It offers a variety of events and classes that encourage and enable local citizens to become more environmentally sustainable.

Initiatives: Free Energy advice sessions are run every month by BHSECo to help the community to make their homes more efficient. People receive free home energy saving packs, worth more than £100, that include energy meters to measure electricity use, radiator boosters and reflectors, and letterbox, door and window draught-proofing kits. Residents also receive help from the Green Building Partnership on how these devices help to cut energy consumption. By promoting the ability for citizens to reduce energy consumption, quantities of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere will surely be reduced.
